Improving Public Transport in Dublin Rathdown
I am dedicated to advocating for urgent improvements to public transport in Dublin Rathdown. The current challenges, particularly the overcrowding on the Luas Green Line and issues surrounding the Bus Connects project, require immediate attention.
The Luas Green Line is severely overcrowded during peak times, and simply increasing frequency will not be enough to address the issue. With major developments like Cherrywood putting additional pressure on our transport system, I strongly believe that cancelling the Metro upgrade to Sandyford was a mistake. I will continue to campaign for this essential upgrade to enhance our transport infrastructure.
While Bus Connects promises to deliver better services, it has unfortunately left many residents without proper access, forcing them to rely on cars or miss important appointments. The loss of routes like the 17, 75, and 175 is a significant concern. I urge the National Transport Authority (NTA) to collaborate closely with local communities and public representatives to ensure that the project benefits everyone.
Our community deserves a transport system that is reliable, accessible, and future-proof. Together, we can work towards a better public transport network for Dublin Rathdown
